Teachers notes – Sequencing games

The object is to order the cards so that they explain a process or complete a series of questions.

The cards are two sided. One side has the start of sentences (shown by an s in the corners), the other side the finish (signified by an f).

Find the start card. Look at all the sentence finishes and find the one that completes the first sentence. Turn this card over and it has the start of the next sentence. Look for the finish and so on until the end card is reached.

The game can be played in small groups, encouraging discussion and peer support or against the clock. Ideally a follow up exercise where they record what they have learnt is advisable. Revision time is also a good opportunity to break out the cards once more.
